Original black-and-white press photograph, approximately 190 × 243 mm (7.5 × 9.6 in.), showing Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh in a public appearance with a large typed caption card mounted across the image. The portrait is a candid outdoor scene with Lindbergh in civilian dress and spectators or attendants behind him. The print has pronounced edge wear, creasing, and abrasion, while the mounted caption and verso agency and library markings remain present.

The verso bears a copyright notice for Associated Press Press Photo, supplied by the London office of the agency, together with a Daily Mirror Library stamp identifying ‘Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh’ and dated 29 APR. 1939. The caption card on the recto contains additional contemporary editorial text, but portions are inverted or partly obscured in the scan.

Lindbergh’s public appearances in the late 1930s were followed closely by international newspapers because of his aviation fame and continuing political and public prominence. The surviving agency copyright notice and London newspaper-library handling place this photograph within that transatlantic press circulation.

The physical interest of the print lies in the combination of portrait, pasted caption, AP copyright block, and Daily Mirror filing stamp.
