The verso carries a printed caption headed ‘PRESS IDENT. KENNEDY ASSASSINATED.’ It states that a man stands on the rear bumper of the car as Mrs. Kennedy is taken to Parkland Hospital after the President was fatally shot, and identifies the event as occurring on November 22, 1963. The caption is attributed to an associated press photograph and bears the number 19520, the date 24/163, and a London press reference.

The scene belongs to the immediate visual record of the Dallas motorcade and its aftermath, when press photographers and agencies transmitted images of the assassination and the hurried removal of the President’s party to Parkland Hospital. The verso’s terse newsroom wording preserves the urgency of that reporting moment.

The print’s significance is documentary and bibliographic: it retains a contemporary identification caption, agency transmission context, and editorial handling while recording the motorcade’s movement through the crisis. The physical object therefore preserves both the event image and the press system through which the assassination was first reported.
